Dear Ingo Collection

Design by Ron Gilad

The pendant lamp Dear Ingo was designed by Ron Gilad in 2003 as a homage to the designer Ingo Maurer. Thanks to its size and complex, adaptable shape, Dear Ingo draws attention and is best showcased in large rooms.

The light fixture appears to be made out of sixteen desk lamps, arranged in a ring. Its articulated arms and classically shaped lampshades are made of powder-painted metal. They are freely adjustable, enabling not only a perfect illumination of any room, but also creating unique, stunningly complex shapes. When choosing a position, the lamp needs to be carefully adjusted to stay balanced.

Because of its industrial, experimental character, Dear Ingo is a perfect light source above conference tables in offices for creative work. It is a remarkable design statement with a playful charm, while remaining perfectly functional.

Dear Ingo is part of the collection of the Art Institute Chicago.
