Marset
Pleat Box Collection

Design by Mashallah Design, Xavier Mañosa

The suspensions Pleat Box by Marset use ceramics in an extraordinary manner. The collection comprises four suspensions, each with another shape and size. It is the result of a cooperation between the Berlin-based design studio Mashallah and the Spanish designer and ceramist Xavier Mañosa, and allies modern digital technology with traditional craftsmannship.

The light shades are reminiscent of soft textile, because they feature delicate, fluid folds. The fact that they are made of ceramics creates a moment of surprise. Yet, apparent contrasts are united in the creative process. The design is digital, the material on the contrary refers to the long history of the oldest material in the history of mankind.

A fancy and elegant colour complements the design. External side and internal side stand here in contrast. While the shades feature matt colours outside, the inner side is glazed in white or gilded, lending the light a special brilliance.

A ceiling rose of ceramics and a textile covered electrical cable complete the stylish design.

The light shines downwards and is suitable for direct illumination of tables, seating groups or whole rooms. The different diameters are suitable for slender counters or broad dining tables, enable also an arrangement in rows and unique groups. All shapes and colours are selected so that they harmonize together.

The light fixtures are optionally available for standard E27 lamps or with integrated LEDs. The latter are characterized by an especially warm white light colour and a very good colour rendering, perfectly suited for welcoming living spaces, over dining tables, in living rooms or in the lounge. The colour rendering makes that all colour hues appear natural and precise.
