Mashallah Design

Hande Akçayli and Murat Koçyigit, both born in 1974, founded the interdisciplinary Mashallah design studio in Berlin in 2008. Hande Akçayli studied design and experimental fashion in Moscow, Istanbul and Berlin, while Murat Koçyigit graduated in industrial design with a specialization in process design.

The Mashallah studio follows a free, experimental design approach and makes use of software and 3D technology. The designs are performed digitally, while the realization is made by hand, according to the tradition.

Mashallah Design merged with the design research project "The T/Shirt Issue" and now goes by the name of HOID with headquarters in Los Angeles.

For the renowned Spanish lighting label Marset, Marshallah Design created the digital draft for the collections Pleat Box and Scotch Club. The fascinating light fixtures are made by hand by the ceramic artist Xavier Mañosa.
