Louis Poulsen
LC Shutters Collection

Design by Louise Campbell

The fancy suspension LC Shutters originates from the collaboration of Louis Poulsen with the Danish designer Louise Campbell. The luminous result is a light fixture providing a soft, friendly and pleasant light. With LC Shutters, Louise Campbell managed the balancing act between reducing the glare and diffusing the light. Her intention was to recreate the intimate moment of an evening walk in a town of southern Europe. She catched the special lighting atmosphere connected with the decorative facades featuring slanted shutters in a light fixture.

The precision of the multilayered metallic shades is reminiscent of the time with Poul Henningsen. To manufacture the LC Shutters, only three working steps were necessary, grinding of the shade, pressing of the pattern and lacquering. However, to achieve a precise pressing on the round surface, a new tool had first to be invented.

The light of the LC Shutters is directed mostly directly and filtered through the diffuser of blown opaline glass. The result is a soft and 100% glare-free light which emerges whatever lamp is used. The perforated decorative elements on the shade produce a delicate, decorative light glow surrounding the light fixture.

The LC Shutters suspension adapts excellently to every room, whether in the kitchen, over the dining table, in the office or in the corridor.
