The suspension Plié Plissé by Moooi offers diffuse light or concentrated downwards directed light. To switch between these two types of illumination, the lower shade is simply adjusted. Lukas Bazle designed the Plié Plissé suspension as a kinetic design that accompanies its users flexibly and cheerfully along the day.
The diffuser is cylindrical, closed on top and below and entirely made of white, carefully pleated PES. A honey comb structure lends it stability and a fascinating appearance with thin details. The light passes softly through the material and is evenly distributed in the room. The lower shade is adjusted with a simple gesture to achieve diffuse or direct illumination. There is a recess in its middle for the light source. When the shade is pulled downwards, it disappears inside the diffuser and its light is distributed evenly and diffusely in all the directions. When the shade is pushed upwards, the light source is outside and its light is guided downwards.
A light source with cylindrical bulbs, very warm light colour and a very good colour rendering complements the design. Together with the well thought-out shade, its high light quality creates a pleasant illumination, ideally suited especially for living rooms and bedrooms, above cozy seating groups in foyers, above dining tables or in cafes.
The striking metallic structure consists of white lacquered steel. Electrical cable and ceiling rose are also white, so that a consistent, clear appearance is created. Stylishly, Plié Plissé adapts to modern and classical interiors. Because of its size, it attracts the eyes, yet seems light and simple while its function is as surprising as obvious.
