The modern, futuristic shape of the Luceplan Sky and the light scatter are the special features of this light fixture. It has been designed as exterior lighting and can either be installed as wall or ceiling lighting or as a bollard light for illuminating paths and entrances.
The diffuser is made of polycarbonate, while the lamp body is made of die-cast aluminum. The rectangular shade has soft rounded corners. The inconspicuous look of the Luceplan Sky does not suggest the lighting effect behind it. The light of the two E14 bulbs shines downwards on both sides. The Sky outdoor lights by Luceplan are very weather-resistant thanks to their IP65 protection class.
In 2007 the designer Alfredo Häberli developed the Sky collection for the Luceplan lighting brand. In 2009, Luceplan Sky was awarded the "Best outdoor light" with the Wallpaper Award - a year earlier, in 2008, the Luceplan Sky won a prize for its sophisticated technology and its impressive design at the European "Lights of the Future" design competition.
