Louis Poulsen
AJ Eklipta Collection

Design by Arne Jacobsen

The wall and ceiling lamps AJ Eklipta by Louis Poulsen feature a classical design by Arne Jacobsen. The collection convinces with pleasantly diffuse light and offers also models for a use in the exterior area.

Arne Jacobsen designed the model AJ Eklipta in 1959 for the town hall of Rødovre, in two sizes, with a diameter of 35 cm and 45 cm. The wall lamps were installed in the stair wells and outside. Later, he designed a further model with a diameter of 22 cm for the St. Catherine's College in Great Britain.

AJ Eklipta has a blown shade of three-layers of opaline glass producing a soft, diffuse, even light. The glass shade's clear edge projects a light crown on the wall or ceiling. The discreet wall and ceiling structure is made of white powder-painted aluminium.

Today, the light fixture is also available in diverse sizes. All models can be installed on the wall and on the ceiling. Moreover, the AJ Eklipta with a diameter of 35 and 45 cm are also suitable for sheltered outside areas when installed on the wall and have an IP44 protection class. The smaller AJ Eklipta model with a diameter of 22 cm is only suitable for inside (IP20).
