Giulio Iacchetti was born in 1966 in Castellone, Italy, and has been an industrial designer since 1992. Besides, he is also Art Director and teaches at several universities and design schools.

His work is especially characterized by the research and definition of new object types, for which he gives great attention to the relationship between handicraft tradition and design. Together with Matteo Ragni, Giulio Iacchetti designed the Moscardino, a biologically degradable multipurpose cutlery, for which he was awarded the coveted design prize Compasso d'Oro ADI. Besides, Moscardino was included in the MoMa's permanent collection in New York. For his project Coop Eureka, he received the innovation prize Premio dei Premi from the Italian president in 2009. Also in 2009, the Art and Design museum Triennale di Milano dedicated an individual exhibition to Iacchetti called "Giulio Iacchetti. Unobedient objects".

With the foundation of Internoitaliano in 2012, Giulio Iacchetti complied with his desire to give a shape to Italian handicraft and life style. Internoitaliano is a network of manual laboratories and production workshops producing furnishing objects 100% made in Italy, inspired by the Italian way of life and bearing the names of Italian villages and towns.

For the premium label Foscarini, Giulio Iacchetti designed the light fixtures Tropico and Magneto.
