Bover
Noren Collection

The suspensions from the Bover Noren collection were designed by Estudi Manel Molina in 2022. The indoor light fixtures impress with a geometrical, clear design and sound-absorbing properties.

The name Noren derives from fabric pieces that are traditionally used as curtains to separate various living areas in Japanese homes. They replace walls, doors and windows. Inspired by this Japanese tradition, Bover manufactures these lightweight, decorative light fixtures with integrated sound-absorbing panels to achieve an improved room acoustics.

With a width of 72 cm and a shallow depth of only 17 cm, the Noren pendant lights are very flat and, depending on the chosen model, let the light pass directly downwards or downwards and upwards. Noren is made of aluminium, MDF, thermoplastic fire-resistant Crevin®-fabric and Basotech®. The latter is a flexible foam of melanine resin, characterized by a high sound-absorbing ability, a low weight and a low flammability.

The manufacturer gives the Noren pendant lights' sound-absorption level αw an A. Acoustic elements are categorized, according a DIN EN 11654 predetermined procedure, in absorption classes A, B, C, D or E, A being certified with the "highest absorption".
