Ingo Maurer
Canned Light Collection

The suspension Canned Light by Ingo Maurer is an homage to the Pop Art artist Andy Warhol. It was designed in 2003 by Christoph Matthias and Hagen Sczech in 2003 and is available as new version for LED reflector since 2020. Canned Light can serve as a suspension and as a wall lamp.

An authentic tomato soup can by Campbell's serves as a lampshade. It contains the illuminant and lets the light shine through its open lower side, while a spiral-like fixation is affixed to the wall base or is connected to the suspension cable. The electrical cable runs separately and leads to the electrical connection on the wall or ceiling. The pendant light suspension is freely height-adjustable with a pulley and an adjustment ring.

Thanks to its direct, downward light, Canned Light is suited to illuminate tables, dressers, kitchenettes and kitchen counters. Because it cites art and is very recognizable, it is a conversation starter and sets loosening accents in modern interiors.

Electrical cable, suspension and all other parts are placed in the delivered closed box which must be openend just before the installation. It is made in proper style with the ring-pull on the underside of the box.
