About the Collection Fabbian Oru
The designers Vim & Vigor were inspired by Origami folding art when designing the Oru suspension collection for Fabbian. The fact that such a light fixture like Origami could be created with a simple, flat sheet, was considered like "magic" by the designers. Together with the representation of containers with folded edges, they developped the idea of combining this folding and cutting technique with a traditional, bent metallic shape.
The result of the creative process by Vim & Vigor are three suspensions. Two of them feature a discreetly asymmetrical shape with a remarkable small aperture in the metallic shade, through which the inner side's colour is visible. Both Oru lights with a shade diameter of 37,5 or 56 cm are lacquered in black outside, while the inner sides come in cheerfully coloured tones and lend Oru an unmistakable appearance. Oru's second version has an even more elegant, exquisite appearance. The semi-spherical shade has a burnished copper surface on the external face and a polished inner face.
While Oru Copper is also available with integrated, dimmable LEDs, the other Oru suspensions are always equipped with E27 socket for LED lamps.
