Valerio Sommella & Anonima Luci

Anonima Luci is a design studio from Milan - founded in 2018 by Alberto Saggia and Stefania Kalogeropoulos - that deals with lighting design in all forms. Whether it is technical illumination, product design or art installation, with the adequate illumination it is possible to awake emotions and put the essential to the fore. The design studio Anonima Luci created the impressive glass lights Jer and Bolha for the Italian light label Kundalini together with the Italian industrial designer Valerio Sommella.

Alberto Saggia was born in 1978 in Novara, Piedmont, and graduated in industrial design from the Polytechnic University of Milan with lighting design as a speciality. After completing his studies, he worked from 2004 on together with the Metis Lighting Studio in Milan where he took charge of the team leadership for product design and customized light solutions. Later he taught at universities and worked freelance on lighting projects and industry design products.

Stefania Kalogeropoulos was born in Athens in 1988 and completed her architechture studies in Florence in 2011. The Greek obtained her master in light design and LED technology from the Polytechnic University of Milan. She worked several years as a light designer for Barbara Balestreri (BBLD) and developed and implemented projects for the high-class retail sector, art exhibitions and museums. Kalogeropoulos completed a second master in the field of exhibiton design and develops mainly light installations at Migliore + Servetto Architects.

Valerio Sommella was born in 1980 in Cortona, in Tuscany, and raised in Milan. He completed his studies at the Polytechnic University of Milan with distinction. During his professional debut, he commuted between Milan and Amsterdam, until he finally founded the Valerio Sommella Design Studio in 2009. He works in collaboration with Italian and international labels and designs for them a large product range, preferably in large quantities. Beside light fixtures and pieces of furniture, he also designs entertainment electronics and accessories. He considers his products not only as a unique book chapter, but as a proper short story with beginning, end and characters of its own.
