Eugeni Quitllet

Eugeni Quitllet was born in 1972 on Ibiza and accomplished his studies at the Llotja Art School in Barcelona. The Catalan describes himself as a "Disoñador", a word creation combining the Spanish words for designer and dreamer. He has designed bestselling objects at the crossroads between paintings and sculptures which are always characterized by an elegant shape with flowing curves. For Eugeni Quitllet, weightlessness is a major topic, which is displayed in numerous creations, such as the Satellight light for Foscarini. What is so special about his products is the unique link between function and illusion.

He started his international career at the side of Philippe Starck he met on Formentera in 2001. Together with this star designer, Eugeni Quitllet created iconic designs. Together they designed the internationally successful Masters chair for the Italian label Kartell. In addition, the talented designer has worked in collaboration with labels like Vondom, Christofle and Alias, and has developed successful interior design products. In 2011, Eugeni Quitllet founded his own design office and now lives in Paris. He was elected Designer of the Year by Maison & Objet in 2016.
