About the Collection Axolight Pivot
Axolight Pivot derives from a design by the Japanese designer Ryosuke Fukusada and unites aesthetics, function and a particularly decorative value in a sensational, innovative manner. Formal cleanliness and technical refinement merge in this light collection launched in 2021, and provide architects and interior designers with room for numerous stylish lighting installations in various architectural contexts.
The designer drew inspiration from mathematical and sportive categories. What is called pivot element in algebra is the element in a quantity of numbers which is used first to calculate a algorithm. In the field of sport, the pivot is a basketball leg movement during which one leg serves as an axis, enabling the other to move freely. The cylindrical Axolight spotlights are made the same way: two overlapping rings can turn freely from each other. It is possible to integrate tubular metallic rods in the inlet ports, and thus create many geometrical modular and linear lighting systems. The beauty of the cylindrical spotlights was inspired by Japanese Hishaku, a traditional water ladle.
Three basic elements compose the Pivot collection. The cylindrical spotlights with integrated lens, available with a 12 degrees beam angle for focused light or with a 38 degrees beam angle for broader light cones, contain the dimmable LED light source. Besides, metallic tubes with a length of 35 cm, 65 cm or 100 cm serving as connecting elements and a ceiling rose with integrated LED driver are components of the modular Pivot system. The whole system is supplied with current via the ceiling rose.
The standard version, available in our shop, contains the single Pivot PL1 ceiling lamp. Customized modular combinations are of course also possible. For customized versions, please contact our customer service.
A further particularity of the Pivot collection is its compatibility with some Axolight suspensions: suspended elements from the Jewel, Mono, Liaison, Urban Mini and Virtus collections can be affixed to the cylindrical spotlights and enable to create completely novel and fancy light creations.
