About the Collection Artemide Hydro
The Hydro lights by Artemide were designed by Ross Lovegrove and have a futuristic and organic appearance. The extensive collection which is among the most popular in the Artemide portfolio is now available equipped with dimmable LEDs instead of the former halogen lamps. Reflecting, chrome-plated, biomorphic "pebbles", reminiscent of rain drops or mercury drops, take centre stage.
The Hydro collection includes diverse ceiling lamps, suspensions and light fixtures for wall and ceiling in the "Skydro", "Droplet" and "Mercury" sub-categories. They feature a different quantity of stones, which - depending on the model - are suspended with Nylon or metallic cables on a round, stainless steel plate. The LEDs are concealed in the lower pebbles and cast their light upwards, where it is reflected by the other elements and distributed in the room. The result is fascinating lighting effects in addition to the indirect, dimmable illumination.
The pebbles are made of thermoplastic resin cast by injection, featuring a chrome-plated surface. The LED reflector is made of moulded aluminium and the structure is made of lacquered steel.
