The Grimmeisen Licht brand is an internationally oriented company and stands for technically and creatively high-quality office and living room lighting "Made in Germany". The designer and managing partner Gerhard Grimmeisen founded Grimmeisen Licht GmbH in 2007 at the Wasserburg a. Inn (40 km east of Munich). The areas of brainstorming, design, product development, final assembly, logistics, lighting planning and sales are all located under one company roof. The company is shaping the future based on LED technology.
Founder and designer Gerhard Grimmeisen finds his source of inspiration in his home town of Wasserburg a. Inn and this is where the heart of the company beats. A large part of the partner and supplier companies are located in the region or within a radius of 50 km.
Gerhard Grimmeisen (born 1966 in Rosenheim) initially completed an apprenticeship as a precision mechanic, then discovered his passion for design and light and continued his education as an autodidact.
Numerous international design awards confirm its competence and innovative strength. As a creative mind and visionary, he pursues his passion. "Do what you love and create something new with unique selling points" is his premise. At the beginning of the 1990s he began studying design on his own and runs a small design workshop and a lighting specialist shop on the side. At the same time, he works part-time in development for a well-known industrial company.
In 1998 he went to Munich and gained practical experience in the development and design department at Ingo Maurer. In 1999 Gerhard Grimmeisen started as a freelance designer and manufacturer in a loft in Wasserburg a. Inn.
The first own lighting collection in small series is created and is sold through individual selected specialist trade partners in Germany and Switzerland. In June 2002, Gerhard Grimmeisen and Dr. Harald Zimmermann Grimmeisen Vertriebs GmbH. In 2007 Gerhard Grimmeisen and Dr. Harald Zimmermann today's Grimmeisen Licht GmbH.
