About the Collection Vibia Flat
The LED lights Flat by Vibia convince with a precise geometry and an outstanding delicacy. Despite a minimal formal language, the collection comprises many versions and is versatile. It includes suspensions and ceiling lamps, table lamps and floor lamps with a single shade or with several light sources. The design by Ichiro Iwasaki adapts harmoniously to modern and minimalist rooms and enables demanding lighting concepts.
The shades of the Flat light fixtures consist of round, very flat aluminium plates. They are available in two versions: as a simple wide plate serving as a screen and guiding the light in one direction and as a combination of wider reflector plates and smaller LED diffuser that casts its light against the largest plate and therefore achieves an indirect illumination.
All light fixtures in the collection have one or several of these shades, held by slender, rectangular steel structures forming remarkable graphic patterns. The design features contrasts between angular and round shapes, between the black structures and light shades, between light and shadows.
Numerous model versions make possible very customised combinations and various illumination concepts. The ceiling lamps have their shades on several levels, often feature an asymmetrical construction and can be combined to form lively lighting landscapes. These configurations become part of the architecture and produce the effect of a suspended ceiling with a subtly integrated indirect illumination. The pendant lights offer direct lighting for table illumination, while the table lamps and floor lamps spread downwards directed reading light or set soft accents. Particular floor lamps offer additional functions and thus new possibilities of interior design. The low placed shades also serve as a storage area and can be used as a side table or a bedside table.
The integrated LEDs are characterised by an especially warm white light colour of 2700K and a very good colour rendering. They produce a pleasant illumination that has a natural and relaxing effect and provide the right atmosphere in living rooms and bedrooms, in lounge areas and cafes. The light is dimmable. For this purpose, the floor and table lamps have a small touch dimmer conveniently located directly on the structure, while the ceiling lamps and suspensions require diverse external dimmers.
