Fun Collection

Verner Panton

The opulent Verpan Fun light fixtures by the Danish
designer Verner Panton are made of many small mother-of-pearl discs.

The Fun light collection by Verpan is a designer classic by the Danish design legend Verner Panton. Numerous discs of mother-of-pearl form a thick cloud serving as a diffuser.

Fun was designed in 1964 and still fascinates with a charmingly complex appearance and an especially enchanting, unusual material. Fun has numerous small, round mother-of-pearl discs hanging on a ring-shaped metallic structure with filigreed metallic chains. The result is a thick cluster concealing the light source which shines mysteriously and produces soft sounds when there is a draught of air.

The large collection comprises many suspensions, among them opulent chandeliers, which decorate large rooms in public spaces, stairwells and prestigious rooms. There are also table lamps, floor lamps and wall lamps in the collection. They can be placed on sideboards and side tables, in bedrooms and living rooms in private homes.

The metallic structure consists, depending on the diffuser's size and shape, of many different slender metallic rings. They are generally shiny in chrome, but also available with a shiny brass finish.
