The Scandinavian light manufacture UMAGE was founded in Copenhagen in 2008 – originally under the name Vita Living and Vita Copenhagen. Its goal is the production of well-thought-out, appealing and efficient light solutions at affordable prices. The company became famous in 2010 with the UMAGE Silvia suspension, which resembles a huge pinecone. In 2012 UMAGE launched the UMAGE Eos light fixtures made of real feathers. Today they are one of the most prestigious designs by UMAGE. Other lights made by Vita Living have pretty names like UMAGE Luna, UMAGE Conia, UMAGE Filippa, UMAGE Folia, UMAGE Gaia, UMAGE Pagoda and UMAGE Alba. Each is a high-quality, energy-efficient light source, is attractive and offers a versatile lighting solution in living rooms and above dinning tables or counters. Today UMAGE sells its products in more than 25 countries in the world.
UMAGE Silvia resembles a huge pinecone from which pleasant light is diffused in all the directions. It has semi-transparent scales that can be assembled within 15 minutes. When the Silva has been assembled, the scales diffract the light and enable an even room illumination. Because the light source is inside the diffuser, the emitted light does not glare. Beside the UMAGE Silvia, a UMAGE Silvia Mini is also available. The original UMAGE Living Eos or Eos Mini suspensions consist of real bird feathers . Like Silvia, Eos is assembled by hand; by sticking each feather into a core made of paper. The Eos suspension lamp drenches the room in pleasant light and is a real eye-catcher.
Each UMAGE light fixture is delivered in a flat package, which demonstrates the company's resources-saving concern that is at the core of its philosophy. The lights are to be assembled by the users. No tools are required. All UMAGE lights are designed to be equipped with energy-efficient bulbs, but they can also be equipped with LEDs.
