About the Collection Tom Dixon Beat

The Beat lights are among the most famous works by the British designer Tom Dixon and decorate numerous restaurants, cafes and private homes. The brass lights are made by hand in Jaipur, in northern India. For this reason, each light is a unique piece.

The collection emerged in 2004 as an initiative to promote Indian craftsmen and metal workers. The Beat lights' shades are manufactured using secular traditional techniques for making vases, vessels and cooking pots.

The "Beat" name refers to the hammer blows with which the brass shades are formed. The strokes are visible inside the shade, producing a faceted, shining surface and an especially beautiful light. The Beat Lights come in different shapes, each having its own charm and all harmonizing with each other. The smooth external sides are lacquered or available in brushed brass.

The suspensions are the heart of the collection, but Beat also includes a table, a floor and a wall lamp as well as the decorative Beat Vessel vases which are a great fir for any high-class interior, such as prestigious offices, inviting living rooms or private libraries.

The Beat Lights' iconic design was often copied by never equalled, because they owe their authenticity and beauty down to the detail to the special care and expertise of their creator, to secular manufacturing methods and to the intention to seamlessly connect tradition and modernity.

In 2021, the integrated LED modules in the Beat lights were technically further developed and now convince with an even longer life expectancy, higher energy efficiency and improved performance including dimmability and light control.
