About the Collection Tecnolumen Buquet
On February 9th in 1927, precisely at 16.29 hours, Edouard-Wilfried Buquet filed a patent for parts composing the EB27 table lamp at the French Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in Paris. Especially the joints were an absolute novelty at the time. Until the 1940s, Buquet produced diverse versions of task lights which enjoyed international renown.
Tecnolumen has re-edited the refined piece with small changes. The internal joints slightly differ from the original for technical reasons. Because the transformer is now located in the base, it is not anymore made of wood as it was the case for the original, but of metal like the rest of the light fixture.
The collection includes a table lamp with double arm, a smaller table lamp with a single arm, a floor lamp and a wall lamp. All light fixtures are available in a choice of shiny metallic surfaces and feature the same remarkable design with adjustable arms, a delicate shade and a stable base.
The EB 27 table lamp is exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Each Buquet light bears a number in growing order and the Tecnolumen logo.
