Slamp
Kalatos Collection

The Kalatos lamps by Slamp were designed by Elisa Giovannoni who was inspired by the ancient art of weaving. The name refers to the baskets called kalathos which women in ancient Greece used in everyday life. The collection includes a pendant lamp and a ceiling lamp.

The light fixtures are shaped like a large tyre. In its center sits a flat, cylindrical diffuser, surrounded by an airy three-dimensional mesh made of plastic strips. The result is a shape with soft curves, partly transparent and of astonishing spatial depth. The woven shade is made of patented Slamp technopolymers, depending on the version in white with transparent Lentiflex, or in matt black with a golden metallized inner side.
