The design of the Base floor lamp hints at Tom Dixon's love of iron and his admiration for metalworks which fueled the Industrial Revolution with the creation of bridges, railways and engines and lead England to new welfare. In this case, the result is a floor lamp with timeless elegance that bathes private and public spaces with soft light and creates an exclusive and contemporary ambience. The Base floor lamp's structure is made from sand cast iron and has a matt finish. A slender stem leads to a pyramidal base which is solid and looks filigree at the same time. The conical shade is plain in shape but stands out with the luxurious allure of its material: it is made from spun brass with rolled edges and has a satined and lacquered surface in ash gold. A black fabric cord with foot switch is integrated. The Base series also includes a table and a wall lamp.
