About the Collection Secto Design Secto
The light fixture Secto is the designer classic in the portfolio of the eponymous Finnish light label, Secto Design. Because of its clear shape and functional direct light, it is suitable for many points of use. The collection includes suspensions in several sizes, a table lamp, a floor lamp and wall lamps in two sizes, which can also serve for indirect illumination.
Secto uses a hand-made shade of Finnish birch plywood from PEFC certified forest management. The pressed wooden slats create a shape which is cylindrical and closed on top, and are fanned out below to form an airy conical shade. The spaces between the slats make the inside partly visible and let some light escape. Depending on the version, the slats come in natural wood or are veneered or laminated outside, so that additional colour contrasts come into play. The metallic structure is lacquered in white or in black.
In order to avoid overheating, the Secto light fixtures must receive only LED lamps. Halogen lamps, 12V lamps or mirror lamps are not allowed.
The Secto light fixtures can be integrated in a DALI system with the aid of a separate DALI compatible trailing edge phase dimmer.
