About the Collection Santa & Cole Cesta
The extremely popular Santa & Cole light collection Cesta was designed by the grandiose Spanish design pioneer Miguel Milá in 1962. The collection has been constantly expanded by new models in terms of material and lighting technology and is still a coveted designer classic on the lighting market today.
The Cesta table lamp and its smaller sister Cestita consist of a spherical, opaline white diffuser made of glass and the iconic feet with the carrying handle made of wood. Some models in the Cesta collection are also available with an opaline white synthetic (polyethylene) shade.
Their decorative design makes the Santa & Cole Cesta light fixtures special. It is reminiscent of a Japanese-style lantern. The Spanish word Cesta means "basket" and the frame of the Cesta somehow resembles a basket. The basket supports the luminous sphere and can be repositioned by using the handle. At the same time, the diffuser spreads the light very evenly, providing a pleasant, diffuse light.
