Atollo Collection

Design by Vico Magistretti

The Table lamp Atollo is a designer classic by Vico Magistretti from 1977 and one of the most popular light fixtures of the brand Oluce. With its striking silhouette, it decorates sideboards and sets atmospheric lighting accents.

Atollo combines simple geometric shapes to create an object with an archetypal, solid feel, completely devoid of small-scale elements or superfluous details. The dome-shaped shade seems to float above the cone-shaped tip of the base, as if it were supported by its own light.

The table lamp is available in different sizes as well as in two materials: the Atollo made of metal radiates its light exclusively downwards, while the version made of white Murano glass provides additional diffuse light.

On sideboards and end tables, Atollo is a fascinating eye-catcher and sets a strong design statement. The light fixture is considered a milestone of Italian lighting design and can now be found in the design collections of important international museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 1979 Atollo was honored with the most important Italian design award, the Compasso d'Oro.
