Nemo is an internationally successful light manufacturer from Italy which is famous for its elegant, minimalistic, contemporary designs, and offers a so-called Masters Collection since 2008. This collection includes designs by old masters of design such as Franco Albini, Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand as new editions. However, Nemo focusses on its portfolio's expansion with creations by jung and innovative light artists, such as Foster+Partners, Javier Mariscal, Carlo Forcolini, Jehs+Laub and Karim Rashid.
Nemo Cassina was founded in 1993 by Franco Cassina and Carlo Forcolini. The company's milestones are the acquisition of the manufacturer Italianaluce in 1998 who, among others, became famous when it worked in collaboration with Porsche. The buying of Meltemi made possible the start in the field of the object area with a large range of light fixtures of blown opaline glass which are mainly used in hotels. In 2006, Nemo became part of the Poltrona Frau Group and in 2012 Nemo's main part went to the light manufacturer for object use Omikron Design srl, while Poltrona Frau remained a significant strategic partner.
Thanks to their stylistic clarity, Nemo light fixtures are timeless classics of modern time, architectural stylistic devices that can set an accent in any room. At the same time, Nemo never looses sight of the lights' original purpose: illuminating rooms with excellent light.
