Moooi
Tinkering Collection

The LED suspensions Tinkering by Moooi are extravagant lighting objects of metal with several steerable reflectors. The collection includes two models of different sizes with seven or twelve light sources.

The design is signed by Joost van Bleiswijk who used Marcel Wanders' "Electrosandwich" technology for this purpose. It enables a filigreed construction with several LED light sources without an electrical cable to disturb the aesthetics. Instead, the conductors are integrated directly in the metallic structure.

The light heads have elongated, convex shades with a copper-coated inner side that reflects the light warmly and diffusers of polycarbonate with grooved surface. Each of the light heads is individually adjustable so that direct and indirect illumination in any desired proportions is possible.

The warm white colour temperature and very good colour rendering of the integrated LEDs qualify the Tinkering suspensions especially for use in living spaces and restaurants. They spread a welcoming, cozy light that represents the colour hues with accuracy and naturally. For this reason, they ensure the right atmosphere over dining tables and seating groups.

The light fixture owes its name "Tinkering" to its complex shape made of diverse metallic parts and reminiscent of a haphazardly and spontaneously designed piece of handicraft work. Asymmetrical, contorted and still characterized by clearly function-oriented thoughts, it is an eyecatcher and a strong design statement.

The round Moooi button that guarantees Moooi design objects' authenticity is visible on the suspension.
