About the Collection Moooi Starfall Light
The LED pendant lamp Starfall by Moooi shines with 30 small, sparkling light sources and a delicate shape. It was designed by the design studio Front in 2022. It is based on a light installation that Front developed for the Science Museum London: a threedimensional map of the 500 stars closest to Earth.
The delicate structure of the Starfall suspension is made of black powder-painted stainless steel. Three slender arms start from a cylindrical housing, bending downwards. Small round diffusers made of transparent polycarbonate are located at their tips. Their elegant drop shape and vertically grooved surface create a sparkling light, and a refined impression even when the light is turned off.
The arms of different lengths place the diffusers at different heights, giving off the impression of a lively starry night sky, especially in the dark. The light points add up to various constellations depending on the point of view, seemingly floating freely in the room due to the slender, dark metal arms fading discreetly into the background. With an overall diameter of around one meter, a large light cloud is created and serves as a fascinating focus point above large tables or in the middle of a room.
The integrated LEDs have a warm white colour temperature and a high colour rendering ensuring an especially cozy, atmospherical light.
