The suspension Serpentine by Moooi is an airy design with fascinating curves, emitting soft, diffuse light. It was designed by the design studio Front in 2022.
The suspension owes its name to the serpent-like shape of its diffuser composed of winding, nested shades of white polyester fleece. All shades feature a printed thin black line pattern that runs radially and, in this way, the threedimensions and asymmetry of the whole is emphasized. The result is the impression of an infinite spiral in a whirling movement.
The light of the E27 lamp is made even by the white polyester and is diffusely distributed in the room. For this reason, the Serpentine suspension is not only suitable as a table illumination in the dining room, but also as general lighting, for example in the corridor, over a seating group in the living room or in the middle of a room. With its fluid and weightless character and the soft, dimmable light, Serpentine adapts to cozy living rooms and bedrooms, but also to welcoming hotel foyers, elegant restaurants and cafes.
