Moooi
Construction Lamp Collection

The floor lamp Construction by Moooi was designed in 2012 by Joost van Bleiswijk. Old scaffold constructions served as inspiration source for the designer who upgraded their plain character with harmonious proportions and cozy materials. Construction Lamp is reminiscent of technical constructions, tension lines or the Eiffel Tower, but also of old construction toys.

The structure of the light fixture consists of several small metallic and wooden struts, connected with brass screws. In spite of a square shape, the scaffold is delicate and airy, and does not conceal the room located in the back from the view. A flat cylindrical shade of metal guides the light of the four lamps upwards and downwards where the delicate structure makes a stylish impression. The shade has a simple shape, devoid of decorative details, and creates the perfect counterweight to the filigreed scaffold construction.

Despite its technical construction type, the floor lamp Construction awakes a sense of warmth and cosiness. This is especially true for the white version that complements its metallic parts with light wood. The black version, on the contrary, has only metallic struts to create a consistent and very remarkable appearance. The shade's inside comes in gold for both versions and lends additional warmth to the light.
