About the Collection Marset Funiculí
The Funiculí reading lights by Marset are based on a designer classic, designed by Lluís Porqueras in 1979. Marset complemented the floor lamp with a wall lamp and a table lamp in 2013 and further developped the collection in 2018 with the version Funiculí Fabric. It is also available as a floor lamp, as a table lamp and as a wall lamp.
The name derives from the Spanish word "funicular" because a funicular can move the light head up and down along a track.
The light shade of the standard Funiculí lights is round and made of lacquered aluminium. It can not only be adjusted in height and laterally tilted, but also turned by 360 degrees, so that beside steerable direct light, indirect illumination is also possible.
Funiculí Fabric uses instead a larger, conical shade of bright synthetics. It is made of two-layer polyester of PVC and PET, a translucent material that provides a diffuse light distribution. Also this shade is height-adjustable and tiltable laterally, following the same principle, yet is not rotatable, but also spreads a mixture of downwards directed and diffuse light.
All Funiculí versions are perfectly suitable as reading lights, whether in living rooms next to a couch, on the desk, on the wall in a reading nook or next to a bed. While the Funiculí entirely made of metal also sets colourful accents, Funiculí Fabric convinces with a simple, clear elegance that contributes to a pleasant atmosphere especially in modern living rooms and bedrooms.
Funiculí's iron structure is lacquered in the same colour as the shade, while Funiculí Fabric comes in elegant black. A black rubber ring on the base protects delicate surfaces.
