About the Collection Marset FollowMe
The LED rechargeable lights FollowMe by Marset provide a flexible, diffuse illumination. The collection comprises the original FollowMe, now available in several colour versions, as well as the larger FollowMe Plus. The light fixtures were designed by Inma Bermúdez in 2014 and achieved very soon cult status.
The light body is made of polycarbonate and is composed of a base, a dome-shaped shade and a round, internal LED diffuser. The design appeals with harmonious proportions and a sympathetic silhouette. However, it is the handle of laminated wood that defines the light fixture's character and combines all elements like a frame. Two rivets affix the handle laterally on the base and on the light shade, so that the shade can be tilted to the back by 45 degrees to direct the light. The high, convex handle makes it possible to lift the light fixture anytime and to carry it like a lantern to another place, or even to suspend it on a suitable fastening.
The light is dimmable at three levels via a switch on the base, but the battery's operating time depends on the brightness selected. It is of 5 hours at a brightness of 100%, of 10 hours at 50% and of around 20 hours at a maximum of 25%. The USB-C connection for loading the light fixture is located on the base' back. The loading time is of approximately 10 hours.
The white version has a handle in natural oak, the coloured versions have one of wood, yet lacquered in a colour matching the base. The rivets and the touch dimmer come in the corresponding colour, while they feature contrasting brass details in the white version.
The integrated LEDs provide a soft light that is spread diffusely in the room and directly downwards. When the shade is tilted, the light radiates intensely to one side and can, for example, serve as a reading light. The warm white light colour and a very good colour rendering of the LEDs create a pleasant atmosphere, as needed on the bedside table, in the reading corner or on the balcony table.
