Luceplan
Malamata Collection

Malamata by Luceplan was launched in 2021 and includes a floor lamp, a wall lamp and two suspensions. We owe this design to the design studio Shulab. The name Malamata derives from the Hebrew language and means something like "up and down". It is a reference to the designer's Israelian roots and describes the lights' design principle. A refined mechanics makes it possible to put the ball-shape diffuser in diverse positions.

Basically, the Malamata lights consist of a steel structure featuring straight lines and composed of two parts. The spherical diffuser of blown glass which spreads a soft, glare-free light hangs on one side of the horizontal element. There is a counterweight at the other end. It one presses the button, a spring is released and the counterweight can move along the stem. In this way, the diffuser height can vary and adapt to personal needs.

Kinetics is also a decisive feature of the Malamata lights and turn them into a special design object which appeals with an outstandingly elegant and well-balanced aesthetics. All models in this collection are equipped with E14 or E27 LED lamps. The wall lamp is equipped with a cable with plug and does not require an extra wall outlet.
