About the Collection Luceplan Doi
Together with Luceplan, the product designers Marco Paolelli and Sandro Meneghello conceived Doi, a decorative indoor LED suspension, the two main composing elements of which are connected by magnetism and enable to flexibly direct the light.
Doi's "D" stands for "Duo", "O" represents the counterweight's circular part and the "I" imitates the cylindrical, slender diffuser's straight line. The Doi suspension consists of two parts: the black ceiling rose, connected with the slender spotlight of extruded aluminium through the loosely hanging black electrical cable and the circular counterweight of iron which is suspended from the ceiling on a filigreed steel cable.
Spotlight and counterweight are connected via a magnet and, following the laws of physics, form a harmonious unity which is always well-balanced yet unavoidably transient. The slender light rod runs tangentially with respect to the 900 gramms heavy counterweight and can be adjusted with a simple gesture, so that the light beam is directed obliquely downwards or falls directly downwards thanks to its vertical position.

Perfectly tuned geometrical shapes thanks to two combined physical forces like gravity and magnetism produce a minimalistic object which is an aesthetic icing on the cake over dining tables and smaller side tables.
