About the Collection Louis Poulsen Ripls
The Ripls LED wall and ceiling lamps have been designed by Jakob Wagner who creates simple and challenging designs with a minimalist and at the same time playful aesthetics. Ripls which is formally harmonious and absolutely timeless, first appeals with its sobriety. At second glance, its refined shape and the produced lighting effect are striking.
From a distance the circular Ripls wall and ceiling lamps resemble an illuminated frisbee. Seen close up, the concave, clear front with concentrical circles is visible. The circles create a light diffraction and subtly transform its appearance depending on the angle of view. Ripls emits diffuse light. The light intensity is at highest level in the middle of the circle, while it diminishes to the edge. The light is additionally projected against the wall through perforations in the light casing, and a light crown is created. As a result, it seems that the light fixture is pulled away from the wall.
The diffuser, deeply set in the light body, is made of iridescent PMMA and the clear, reflecting front is made of UV-resistant polycarbonate. Ripls is available in two sizes and delivered optionally with a movement detector or can be dimmed via a DALI interface.
At first sight, Ripls seems insignificant, yet appeals with an exciting shape and an interesting lighting effect. The diffuse light can serve as part of the room illumination in corridors, restaurants, bars or shops.
