The flexible LED task light NJP by Louis Poulsen has been created by the Japanese designer Oki Sato and his design studio nendo. Its minimalistic shape is characteristic of a classical task light with two mobiles arms and a directable head to orient the light. NJP however has a distinctive clear and organical formal language. The shape of the shade is especially stirring because its back is open and features a curve which contributes to a charming transition between light head and light arm.
This detail also leads to a special lighting effect because if the main part of the light is directed to the spot to illuminate, some of it passes behind and lights the arm of the light fixture.
The light shade of NJP is white lacquered inside. An opaline acrylic plate ensures a glare-free even light distribution and thus an especially pleasant task light. Besides NJP has two levels of brightness (100% and 50%) as well as a timer function to automatically put the light off after 4 or 8 hours of operation.
The switch is discreetly located behind the light head.
The task light NJP is made of aluminium, yet its arms and head are lacquered. The joints however are only anodised and therefore their shape and function are enhanced. The base is made of steel.
