The AJ Floor Lamp by Louis Poulsen was designed by the Danish architect Arne Jacobsen for the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, one of the very first design hotels. The architect also designed the interior of the hotel and created the furniture, the cutlery, the textiles as well as the lamps. Together with the lighting engineers working for Louis Poulsen, he created the AJ series. Today these Products count among the most famous modern classics of design and are especially appreciated by design connoisseurs and architects worldwide. Because AJ produces a direct focussed light it can ideally serve as reading light. It strikes with its outstanding asymmetrical tiltable shade that perfectly focusses the light. Its holed out base together with the filigree stem contribute to its ethereal elegance.
