About the Collection Lodes Volum
The internationally operating architectural and designing office Snøhetta with headquarters in Oslo created a light fixture which shows the same aesthetics and the same amount of functionality from any angle and shines with demanding glass blowing art. The result is a suspension collection for the Italian design label Lodes named "Volum". The name stands for the shape, a voluminous glass ball. It is an homage to the Italian tradition of ball-shaped glass light fixtures and the art of glass blowing which creates a natural, slightly irregular shape.
The Volum suspensions, available with diameters of 14, 22 and 29 cm, spread a diffuse illumination by 360 degrees in the surroundings and a cozy, inviting atmosphere is created. Volum's frame and ball form a fluid shape devoid of disturbing transitions thanks to the translucent cover of methacrylate topping the ball. The ball is nearly "sealed" by the cover and the complete ball-shaped body is perceived as an impressive unity. The unique, visible element is a small aperture for introducing the cable and for ensuring the ball's balance.
The surface of the Volum suspensions is shiny white and the produced reflections appear elegant and decorative. The electronical suspension cable is transparent and underline the attractive Volum balls' floating character.
In our shop, Volum is offered as a simple suspension with a mini ceiling rose in white, yet the Lodes light fixtures can also be installed as to form impressive compositions, each of them being stunning.
