Dimmer Switch weakness

We love our Kartell Bourgie table lamp but the plastic axle for the dimmer wheel in the switch is weak - our 6 year old grandson managed to break it by just rotating the wheel with a bit more force than an adult would normally use. The dimmer switch is used daily so a stronger metal axel would be an improvement, and would not hurt the overall clear plastic aesthetic.
