About the Collection IP44.de Qu
The rechargeable LED lamps Q by IP44.de are versatile light sources for balconies and gardens. Sebastian David Büscher created a modern lantern that can also be used as a spike lamp, a hanging lamp or a wall lamp with the help of clever accessories.
The diffuser is made of tinted glass and pleases with its wide cylindrical shape and soft edges. A vertical glowing rod is located in its centre, evenly distributing the light of the integrated LEDs. A cylindrical base and a round head plate with a handle hold the diffuser and create the image of a modern, pared-down lantern. The top and base are made of painted cast aluminium available in black and bronze. The glass is tinted in amber colour.
The integrated LEDs have a warm white colour temperature of 2700K, which not only has a cozy and relaxing effect on people, but does not attract nocturnal insects much, as they do not strongly perceive its reddish light spectrum. This creates outdoor illumination that is not only comfortable but also insect-friendly and therefore environmentally conscious.
The light is switched on and off and dimmed in three stages via a touch dimmer. A quick touch on the top of the lamp head is all it takes to switch through the brightness levels. The battery life depends on the selected dimming level. It is approx. 5 hours at 100% brightness, approx. 10 hours at 50% and approx. 20 hours at 25%.
The battery is charged via USB-C. The charging socket is located on the underside of the lamp base. IP44 protection is only given if the charging socket is sealed with its USB cover. The charging process should therefore take place in doors. A 1.2m USB-C cable is included. The charging time is approx. 5 hours.
The handle can be folded down and fits exactly around the headstock so that both parts form a unit. When folded out, the handle can be attached to one of the three accessories, or simply makes it easy to lift the lamp up.
Just like the lamp, the accessories follow a modern, clear design language and effortlessly transform Qu into a floor lamp, a pendant lamp or a wall lamp. The Qu Pin lamp structure with ground spike is placed in unpaved flower beds or green spaces. It is made of powder-coated aluminium. The Qu Hook wall hook is made of cast aluminium with a black finish and is mounted on the wall with the supplied mounting material. Qu Rope is a rubber rope loop that can be attached to tree branches or wooden beams. A polycarbonate hook is hooked into the loop and serves as a connection between the rope and the Qu lamp.
Awarded the Red Dot Design Award 2021, as "Best of best" at the Iconic Awards 2022 and nominated for the German Design Award 2023.
