About the Collection IP44.de Lix
The LED lights Lix by IP44.de are puristically beautiful and, thanks to their integrated rechargeable battery, are self-sufficient, independent from the electric power grid, and can be moved flexibly as well. The collection was designed by Klaus Nolting and includes three rechargeable table lamps with different measurements and proportions, as well as a solar spike lamp with its own solar panel.
The lamps are made of painted high-quality cast aluminium with an organically integrated polycarbonate diffuser. It forms the organic transition between the base and the flat, wide lamp head, which together form a mushroom shape. The light is emitted in a wide area and in all directions, creating an atmospheric island of light around the lamp. The light is shielded at the top, which prevents glare and reduces light pollution.
The rechargeable battery lamps illuminate balcony tables or set accents on garden walls and window sills, while the spike lamps illuminates garden paths or accentuates green areas and flower beds in a subtle way.
The Lix LED lamps thus create outdoor lighting that is considerate of both neighbours and wildlife. Their light is environmentally and insect-friendly even from a technological point of view: According to studies, its warm white LED light colour of 2700K is less distracting to nocturnal insects, since its light spectrum has a low blue component, ommitting the range that insects perceive most strongly. Warm white light also has a positive effect on people, being cozy and relaxing.
The table lamps can be continuously dimmed simply by touching the top of the lamp head. The "Dim to Amber" function means that the colour temperature grows warmer as the brightness decreases, down to a soft, reddish-golden light similar to that of a candle.
All lamps operate independently of the power grid and can therefore be placed anywhere and repositioned at any time without having to take cable lengths and power outlets into account. The built-in lithium-ion batteries allow several hours of wireless operation. The table lamps are charged via USB, the spike lamp charges itself automatically over the course of the day via its solar panel, switches itself on automatically in the evening and switches off after 5 hours of operation (Twilight function).
In the case of the table lamps, protection code IP44 is only achieved if the cover of the charging socket on the underside of the base is closed.
