Ingo Maurer
MaMo Nouchies Collection

MaMo Nouchies lights are a tribute to the sculptor and designer Isamu Noguchi. The collection includes various, carefully handcrafted sculptural lights made of paper. They provide dimmable, cozy light and are impressive even when switched off. The MaMo Nouchies were developed by Dagmar Mombach, the Munich-based light designer Ingo Maurer and his team in 1998 and later completed with further models. The paper diffusers were made in Dagmar Mombach's manufacture in an elaborated manufacturing process. Each light fixture is a unique piece.

The term "MaMo Nouchies" has been formed by the first syllables from the names "Maurer" and "Mombach" and includes a pun on the name "Noguchi". The Japanese-American designer was known for the organic, flowing design language of his sculptures. He also created the designer classic Akari, gracefully lightweight paper lamps that combine traditional Japanese aesthetics with a modern feel. Thanks to their beautiful, pleated paper diffusers, all lamps provide a soft light. They can be placed on tables and sideboards or even on the floor, are suitable for representative spaces as well as for living rooms or bedrooms in tastefully decorated private apartments.

The MaMo Nouchies lights are only suitable for use in dry interiors and should be protected from moisture, strong drafts and extreme sunlight. The paper can feature small inclusions and irregularities.
