About the Collection Ingo Maurer Ilios

The floor lamp Ilios was designed in 1983 by Ingo Maurer and Franz Ringelhan and uses low tension halogen technique for its outstanding filigreed design. Because the light's arms conduct electricity, it is possible to do without cable. Ilios consists of two slender metallic rods forming a V. Between them there is a shorter rod holding the lamp and the small diffuser of opaline glass. Its round, convex shape is reminiscent of the moon. The light is soft, not to bright and is projected indirectly against the wall, while the diffuser has the appearance of a small lighting point. Another characteristic of Ilios is the red fluorescent insulator at the bottom of the light's structure. The base is made of solid steel to guarantee stability.

Please note that the Ilios diffuser is handmade, and it is possible for the glass to have a slight shadow, which can differ from one light to another.
