About the Collection Graypants Roest
The Graypants label's Roest collection was designed by VanJoost and contains horizontal and vertical suspensions in various sizes and a ceiling lamp as well as a wall lamp. All models are hand-made in the Netherlands.
"Roest" is the Dutch word for "rust" which characterizes the light fixtures. Rust is obtained through an entirely natural process, while iron combined with water and oxygen oxidizes after some time. This rust effect is achieved during the Roest lights' manufacturing process, and finally the surface is treated so as to prevent a further oxidation process. The natural rust appearance has a unique industrial charm which lends each room an extraordinary atmosphere.
The vertical Graypants Roest suspensions have tubular, cylindrical shades with 15, 30 or 45 cm of height. They are equipped with GU10 LED reflector lamps and provide a punctual, downwards directed illumination. Several vertical Roest suspensions mounted as a group form a very special eyecatcher. The horizontal Roest suspensions are equipped with permanently integrated LEDs. They are a wonderful lighting solution over dining tables, conference tables and counters, and are available with 75 or 150 cm of length.
What-is-more, the collection includes a wall lamp Roest Sconce with a height of 30 cm. The tube mounted on the wall emits the lamps' light upwards and downwards. While the Roest suspensions and wall lamps are not only available with a natural rust surface, but also in a light grey zinc or black carbon, the Roest ceiling lamp can only be acquired in the natural rust version. The cylindrical body provides direct room illumination and well adapts to corridors and passageways in private homes and in hotels or restaurants.
The raw, natural surface and the minimalistic shape turn Roest into a versatile light source which brings that certain something in any room.
