About the Collection GRAU Salt
The rechargeable LED lamp Salt by GRAU offers advanced technology and a sophisticated design that has been created entirely for the comfort of its users. An extremely powerful battery, three different dimming curves and the functions Sunset Dimming and Sunset Sleep make the cordless lamp a versatile and highly modern light source. It is a complete redesign of the Salt & Pepper LED lamp by Tobias Grau, improving on the old design in every respect.
Salt has the shape of an hourglass, with a wide cone-shaped base, a narrow neck with an integrated diffuser and a flat top that serves as a touch dimmer. The transitions are soft and flowing, with pleasantly rounded curves that invite interaction with the small lamp. Compared to the previous model, the proportions are even more delicate. Other improvements include the rubberized underside of the foot and the rearrangement of essential functional details such as the USB socket, control LED and switch.
The body of the lamp is made of powder-coated aluminium, the diffuser of matt plastic. The elegant "Powder Skin" surface is robust and free of harmful substances. It is available in four colours: in plain black and white and in two expressive shades of orange.
The placement of the diffuser ensures that the light from the integrated LED shines evenly and glare-free 360° around the lamp. It is directed to the side and downwards, creating atmospheric islands of light and illuminating table surfaces while shielding its light from shining upward. A touch of the top of the head is enough to switch the light on and off or dim it continuously. A high-quality touch dimmer is integrated here for completely intuitive control. When dimming down, the light becomes pleasantly warm white (Sunset Dimming).
There are two additional buttons on the rubberized underside: the large Power Button switches the lamp off completely, while the smaller Magic Button switches between the different dimming modes. Each mode offers its own dimming curve with a change in light colour within a different warm white spectrum: Clear Light (2700-2200K), Golden Light (2300-1500K) and Sunset Orange (2000-1300K). The Sunset Orange mode delivers a light free of blue components, which has been proven to promote the release of melatonin and support a healthy biorhythm with its calming effect.
With the Sunset Sleep setting, Salt will automatically dim down over a period of 30 minutes and finally switch to stand-by mode. When switched on again, the light returns to the last, lowest brightness level. This way, the light does not dazzle and make it difficult to go back to sleep when it is briefly switched back on during the night.
The three dimming curves are selected by briefly pressing the Magic Button. By pressing longer, Sunset Sleep is activated.
The battery is characterized by a long runtime and a short charging time. At medium brightness it can provide up to 150 hours of light, at the lowest brightness level even up to 500 hours. The lamp is charged via USB-C in just two hours.
The USB-C charging port is located on the side of the base. The Smart LED next to it uses different colours to indicate the charge level.
The Salt battery lamp is protected against dripping water (protection IP21).
