The interculturally oriented design studio GamFratesi created the Suspence light collection for Lightyears, which is now owned by the Fritz Hansen design company. The light fixture Suspence is characterized by a simple shade and the apparent unity of cable and light shade.
This fusion is not accidental but a conscious construction principle. When designing the Suspence light, the designer duo wanted to translate a movement sequence into a physical shape. The fluid transition was obtained by drawing the aluminium, which resulted in the small cone on top of the shade. The effect of a fluid transition is accentuated by cable and shade of matching colour. The result is a harmonious light shape with soft curves.
The polycarbonate diffuser under the shade ensures glare-free, downward lighting. The Fritz Hansen Suspence suspension is available with shades in three different diameters. The copper version creates an especially refined atmosphere.
Cleaning instructions by the manufacturer: Wipe off the dust with a dry soft cloth. Remove stains with a soft cloth dampened in lukewarm water and a mild detergent. The cloth must be wrung out. Do not use detergents containing abrasives or solvents.
