Orient Collection

Orient is a suspension, originally designed by the Danish light designer Jo Hammerborg in 1963. The Danish light manufacturer Lightyears has launched a new edition, true to the original, in collaboration with the Hammerborg inheritors. There is a choice of three different sizes and various colours.

The bellied shade resembles a traditional, oriental, water containers and is the Orient suspensions' distinctive element. The shade is made of metal and ends in a conical wooden point, connected to the textile cable. Both materials form a wonderfully harmonious contrast and create a coherent whole. The light fixture is available with a black lacquered metallic shade and has a dark rosewood point, or a light grey aluminium shade topped with a light oak point.

Because the light is projected directly downwards, Orient is ideally suited to illuminate a dining table. Some of the light escapes through the slot on top of the shade and shines indirectly upwards into the room.

Orient scores with harmonious shapes and a pleasant lighting effect which always contributes to a room's coziness.
