About the Collection Foscarini Tress
The Tress floor lamp by Foscarini is a visually impressive design statement with a fantastic lighting. The design by Marc Sadler was only created in 2009, but is already one of the manufacturer's iconic lights. In addition to several floor lamps, the collection also includes a wall lamp, pendant lamps and a table lamp.
Foscarini Tress has the shape of a slender column, which is formed by intertwined ribbons. These strips are made of fiberglass and synthetic resin, but at first glance they look like textile with a rough surface structure. Since there is free space between the intersecting bands, the light passes to the side and creates lively lighting effects all around the lamp.
Due to the airy structure, the luminaire also appears lightweight, does not optically clutter the space and offers a changing appearance depending on the angle from where it is viewed.
As impressive as the appearance of the lamp is, the lighting effect even outdoes this. The Foscarini Tress collection is characterized by an atmospheric play of light and shadow on the surrounding walls and a cozy mix of direct and indirect light.
Depending on the type of light fixture, there is also a light that escapes up or down from the light body and either floods the ceiling or illuminates the table tops below. The Tress floor lamp illuminates for example the light's inside with the first, lower positioned light source, while emphasizing the graphic weaving and producing extraordinary shadows on the floor. The second light source is located in a higher position and, like an uplighter, shines the light towards the ceiling which reflects it. With light sources switched separately or together, it is possible to achieve various lighting ambiences and lighting effects. The electrical cable which is integrated in the weaving produces an aesthetical, linear and refined effect.
Tress opens up so many areas of application and tasks, whether as a dining table lamp or atmospheric lighting of bar counters, as an effective mood light in the living room or lounge area.
