About the Collection Foscarini Tobia
The Tobia lights by Ferruccio Laviani for Foscarini prove that even plain and simple shapes can be expressive objects. The lamp body of the Tobia floor lamp and the Tobia wall lamp consists of a slim, liquid-coated or gold-plated aluminum tube that is elegantly curved and looks as if it was knotted in the middle. In 2019, Ferruccio Laviani realized an idea with Tobia lights that, according to his own statement, has accompanied him for a long time: to translate a symbol, as if painted by a child's hand, into a functional object.
The slim silhouette of the Tobia uplight fits into many surroundings. The central curlicue invites you to grab the lamp and move it around, which is also possible due to the relatively low weight of just under four kilograms. The graceful aesthetics is complemented by the powerful LED light that radiates upwards towards the ceiling. The Tobia wall lamp offers a wide light emission above and below.
Depending on the chosen colour, the Foscarini Tobia acts as a conspicuous main protagonist or as a subtle light source in the background. The aluminum tube is either colour-coated or gold-plated.
